Alana Cesarz is showing why she is headed to the University of Nevada-Las Vegas on a basketball scholarship next year.


The talented Delavan-Darien High senior scored 27 points to lead the Comets past host Elkhorn, 54-32, in a Southern Lakes Conference girls game Friday night.


The 6-foot-2 Cesarz had 10 field goals, including four three-pointers, Delavan-Darien improved to 2-1 in the Southern Lakes and 2-2 overall.


Junior guard Grace Ames had 14 points to pace the Elks (2-1, 2-4), who fell out of first place.

Karina Reeves had 15 points, and Lana Wieseman added 14 to lead Badger, which dropped Wilmot to 3-3 and 1-2 under first-year coach Keiya Square.

n Union Grove 59, Westosha 38—Danielle Mutchie had five of her team’s 10 three-point baskets as the Broncos (2-0) rolled to a Southern Lakes win over visiting Central.


Mutchie and Alyssa Thomas both finished with 17 points for Union Grove, which remained tied for first place.


Abbie Reeves led Westosha (2-6, 0-3) with 12 points.
