— Kevin Bullis, a UW-Whitewater assistant, is one of five finalist for the head football coaching position at UW-River Falls.

Bullis, the Warhawks’ defensive run coordinator and special teams coach, will be on the River Falls campus Tuesday for a 1-2 p.m. open forum.

The 1989 Minnesota-Morris graduate was on the Whitewater staff when the Warhawks were 2008 NCAA Division IIII national runners-up and 2009 champions, and he will be there Saturday for another title showdown with Mount Union (Ohio).

Before joining the Whitewater staff, Bullis was the assistant head coach at River Falls from 2004-07. He was Falcons’ defensive coordinator from 1995-2007 and coached the River Falls linebackers from 1990-93.

Bullis’ previous coaching experience came at Minnesota-Morris (1988-89) and Gustavus Adolphus (1993-95).

River Falls’ other finalists are Aaron Vicko, offensive coordinator at UW-Stevens Point; Joe Dettwiler, defensive coordinator at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa; Matt Walker, an assistant at Butler University; and Vincent Kehres, a Mount Union assistant and the son of Purple Raiders head coach Larry Kehres.
