A cold-shooting night from beyond the arc doomed UW-Whitewater’s men’s basketball team Tuesday night.

The Warhawks were only 4-of-22 from three-point range in losing a 70-64 non-conference game to Augustana College.

Brian DeSimone scored 21 points to lead four players in double figures as Augustana remained unbeaten on the season at 7-0.

Antone Byrd led the Warhawks with 21 points. Whitewater fell back to .500 at 4-4 with the loss.

Whitewater trailed by 10 at halftime, but got with five at 60-55 on Alex Edmunds’ jumper with 3:23 left. Augustana kept the Warhawks at bay over the last three minutes by making seven free throws.

The Warhawks will host Marian College in a non-conference game on Saturday at 7 p.m.
