Badger women win third straight

The University of Wisconsin women’s basketball team ran its winning streak to three Wednesday night.


Jefferson High School graduate Lin Zastrow scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures as the Badgers held off Wyoming, 63-59, in a nonconference game.


Wisconsin (5-7) misfired on 10 of 13 three-point shots but made almost 50 percent of its shot inside the arc.


Alyssa Karel added 14 points for the Badgers, while Taylor Wurtz scored 12 and Tara Steinbauer 10.


The Badgers are off until Dec. 30 when they open up Big Ten Conference play at Purdue.
