Hayden Forrestal hit the go-ahead basket with 16 seconds left, and Ryan Bowes added the clinching two free throws to give Elkhorn High a 50-47 victory over visiting Delavan-Darien in Southern Lakes Conference boys basketball Friday night.


The lead shifted in the final minute. The Comets led 45-43, but Brock Poggensee hit a three-pointer to put Elkhorn ahead 46-45.


Sophomore Danny Supernaw made two free throws to put Delavan-Darien back in front, 47-46, with 45 seconds left.


Forrestal then nailed his jumper from the lane, and after a Comet shot went in and out, Bowes sank two free throws with less than a second remaining to clinch the win.


Poggensee finished with 15 points, while Forrestal and Bowes each added 10 for the Elks (2-0, 4-1).


Marcus McLin scored 22 and Raheem Heidelburg added 17 for the Comets (0-2, 0-5).
