— A Sharon man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting at police during a 13-hour standoff at his home in January.

Eugene J. Lehman, 46, pleaded guilty in October to charges of endangering safety by reckless use of a weapon, failing to comply with police, endangering safety and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Police from three counties in Wisconsin and one in Illinois responded to the standoff that ended with volleys of teargas and Lehman shooting himself in the stomach.

According to a criminal complaint, Lehman burned his wife's clothes and shot several rounds over the heads of police after a domestic dispute at the couple's home.

The couple is now getting a divorce, according to court records.

Nearby homes were evacuated, and no one else was injured.

Lehman will serve 13 1/2 years of extended supervision after he leaves prison.
