Parker boys pull out double-overtime victory

— Janesville Parker High School’s boys basketball team missed 21 free throws Saturday, but it was the nine it made in the two overtimes that made the difference.

The visiting Vikings made 28 free throws overall and posted a 59-56 victory over Madison West (0-3, 0-2) in double overtime in Big Eight Conference boys baskeball.


Creed Knutson hit two free throws with 1.9 seconds remaining in the second overtime for the winning margin as Parker improved to 1-1 in the conference and 2-1 overall.


Knutson finished with a game-high 21 points. Kyle Schroeder had 15 for Parker, and teammate Andrew Somerville had 11, including nine free throws.
