— Thanks to wins in 20 of 21 matches, Janesville Parker’s girls tennis team won the five-team Parker Invitational title Saturday.

The Vikings finished 3-0 in the invite, with wins over Oregon, Delavan-Darien and Sauk Prairie.

Parker’s No. 1 doubles team of Maddie Theisen and Kristin Zeilinger improved to 10-0 on the season by winning three matches. Becky and Terri Harmata improved to 9-1 this season with three wins at No. 3 and No 4 singles, respectively.

The Vikings’ Emily Sodemann and Lauren Brooks are both now 7-3 for the season at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better day for us,” Parker coach Justin Long said. “Everybody played great tennis.

“We’re 9-1 overall on the season as a team, and that’s something that we hopefully can continue to build on.”

Parker, 1-1 in the Big Eight Conference, will host Sun Prairie on Tuesday.
