— Janesville police arrested nine people after its street crimes unit executed two search warrants Wednesday.

The crimes were drug-related, police said.

The first warrant was served at 1521 Ravine St. at 5:35 p.m. when residents Sara A. Barlass, 31, Curt A. Barlass, 32, who live at this address, were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession drug paraphernalia.

Also arrested at the address was Marcus A. Jeske, 17, Janesville, on charges of resisting arrest, felony bail jumping and possession of pepper spray.

Jeske’s bail jumping charge is the result of being out on bond for a previous battery arrest and a Beloit incident involving distribution of more than a pound of marijuana and possession of a handgun, a Janesville Police Department patrol supervisor said.

Jeske is in custody at the Rock County Jail, he said.

A second search warrant was executed at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1212 Maple Court, where six people were arrested.

Four were arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia: Alexander D. Rogers, 22; Robert Rogers, 19; Daniel R. Miller, 22; all of the Maple Court address, and Nathan Vincent 19, of 3626 Stuart St., No. 7.

Also arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana were Anthony M. Thiele, 19, of 127 N. Walnut St., and Scott A. Mears, 19, of 1302 Kellogg Ave.

The Rock County Humane Society was called to the Maple Court address to pick up two small pythons. Possessing exotic animals is a city ordinance violation, police said.
