— Defending WIAA Division 1 state champion and two-time defending Big Eight Conference champion Middleton handed Janesville Parker High School’s girls golf team its first dual meet loss Thursday at Odana Hills.

Middleton finished with a 345 total to easily beat Madison West (354) and Parker (376), which also suffered its second conference loss.

Parker (2-2) was led by senior Amanda Becker’s 88.

“We knew it was going to be a tough go today,” Parker coach Mary Ross said. “Middleton’s got four players back from a state championship team.

“Our goal now is to work hard to improve and be competitive with West at the conference meet.”

Parker will participate in the Crusade for a Cure Tournament, which is hosted by Madison Edgewood on Monday.
