— Alcohol and speed are suspected factors in a Saturday night accident that left a Brodhead man critically injured, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Joshua E. Restivo, 24, was driving west on Highway 213 around 10:15 p.m. and failed to negotiate the curve at Plymouth Church Road, according to a news release. The car went off the road and rolled several times, throwing Restivo from the car.

The highway was shut down until about 2 a.m. Sunday. Restivo was cited for driving while intoxicated.

The news release described Restivo’s injuries as critical but not life-threatening.

Restivo was flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to the news release. The hospital had no record of him Sunday. Neither did the other Rockford hospitals.
