WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on plans for Rapid Deployment Training in Janesville school

RSS

School may be out, but Janesville police plan to get an education this week.

Police will be training at Marshall Middle School in Janesville, to practice rapid deployment. Sergeant Brian Donohoue says changing times demand contemporary tactics. He says years ago police often needed to wait for a negotiator, but now law enforcement needs to be ready for a swift and immediate deployment in cases when delay could result in great bodily injury or death to innocent persons. Donohoue says a school setting is valuable for practice, because it's a real life location.

Several area law enforcement agencies, including the state patrol, have been invited.
