— One big inning was all the Beloit Snappers needed to gain a 2-0 win over the Peoria Chiefs in Midwest League baseball here Thursday night.

Beloit broke a scoreless tie with both of its runs in the seventh, during which the Snappers drilled three straight singles to right field. Danny Rams got it going, then went to third on Josmil Pinto’s single and scored the only run Beloit needed when Lance Ray added the third hit.

After a walk to Yorby Martinez loaded the bases, Pinto scored from third on Wang-Wei Lin’s groundout to complete the rally.

Pedro Guerra limited Peoria to four hits in pitching the first seven innings to get the win. Nelvin Fuentes completed the shutout with two hitless innings.

Beloit, which edged Peoria in 11 innings on Wednesday, will go for a three-game sweep of the Chiefs here tonight.
