— One of Beloit's long time, well known restaurants, burned to the ground early this morning.

Firefighters from the Town of Turtle, Town of Beloit, and City of Beloit responded to the Gun Club restaurant, at 1122 East Colley Road, shortly after 5 am.

Town of Beloit Fire Department Captain, Rich Tippelt, acting P.I.O. at the scene, said 3/4 of the building was fully involved in flames when they arrived on the scene.

The fire was considered "under control" at 8:45 am but firefighters remained on the scene putting water on "hot spots." The building is considered a "total loss." Tippelt said estimated loss hasn't been determined and the cause is under investigation.
