— The general manager of the Janesville Ford dealership says local sales are better than overall sales nationally.

Business Week magazine is reporting G-M, Ford, and Chrysler are all reporting sales increases in July compared to a year ago. However the increases weren't as much as predicted.

Terry Nordness of Gordie Boucher Ford says "June was a record month (for sales) and July went over that." Nordness says they're having a hard time keeping some vehicles in stock. He says they nearly sold out the Ford Focus, Fusion, and Escape models and the F-Series pick-ups in July.

Nordness believes the people who've been holding onto their older vehicles are finally trading them in for new.
