Janesville police officials are pleased with the Tuesday night turn out for National Night Out.

Officer Chad Sullivan estimates the crowd around 2000, with more than 100 participating in the first ever run and walk associated with the event. Most of the crowd was made up of children and appeared enthralled in the K-9, SWAT, and TASER demonstrations.

Police closed off two streets adjacent to the department to allow local organizations, ranging from health care to Vietnam Veterans, to set up booths, along with a variety of kids games and activities.
