Rick Klotz was the story Sunday for the Fort Atkinson Generals.

The righthander threw a complete-game one-hitter to lead the Generals to a 4-0 win over Evansville in a Southeast Section game of the Home Talent League.

Klotz struck out 10 and allowed only Brent Cashore’s single in the third inning to help the Generals improve to 12-2 in the East Division. Evansville fell to 6-9 in the West Division.

Jay Blom drove in the only run the Generals needed with a fielder’s choice groundout in the third, while Nate Pfeifer added a two-run single in the fifth.

Cashore suffered the loss despite going the distance. He struck out four and walked four.

Both teams will wrap up the regular season on Sunday. The Generals have already clinched the East title and a berth in the playoffs.

-- Albion 11, Jefferson 3—The visiting Tigers exploded for nine runs in the top of the ninth to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Albion (10-5) trailed 3-2 in the ninth before rallying with nine runs on six hits and two Jefferson errors.

Ben Everson’s two-run single gave Albion the lead for good at 4-3 in the ninth, and Matt Millar and Josh Eastman added RBI doubles.

Mike Nanstad went the distance for Albion to pick up the win.

Albion hosts Evansville next week, needing a win to qualify for the postseason tournament.
