Chiefs play long ball
Peoria hit three first-inning home runs en route to a 10-7 Midwest League win over the Snappers.
The Chiefs scored nine runs in the top of the first, but the Snappers eventually cut the lead to 9-7. Peoria added an insurance run in the eighth.
Sam Spangler was hit hard in suffering the loss. Spangler (0-1) lasted only one inning, giving up nine earned runs.
The two teams wrap up the three-game series tonight at Pohlman Field.
