Work is set to begin Monday on interstate overpasses in Janesville.
The overpasses at Highway 26 and Highway 14 are scheduled for construction. The project consists of milling and overlaying the overpasses and wing wall replacement.
The state Department of Transportation warns of intermittent lane closures and on/off ramp closures.

svrwthr: I'm no expert, but I'd guess the work is mainly related to safety. The resurfacing is taking place on overpasses, not the entire stretch. The expansion construction is not likely to start until at least 2015. I'd rather know that our bridges and overpasses are safe to use, and don't think it seems like a senseless waste of money.

Hold up here..... Yes jobs are needed out there but isn't this job a waste of money for the state and county? I thought the county planned a 6 lane (3 on each side) expansion of I-90 and resurfacing that section of the highway seems pointless if it is to be torn out in the near future anyways.
This section of the highway is one of the newest and in good condition combined with the exansion makes this work senseless.
