Beloit Schools save money on energy

A $1.7 million energy efficiency project in the Beloit School District shouldn't cost taxpayers any extra money.

Manager of Buildings and Grounds Jeff Hanke says energy saving improvements to include lighting retrofits, building weatherizaton, and water system upgrades, will pay for themselves over the years.

District officials say the energy upgrades are also expected to improve student performance by providing a more comfortable learning environment.
