— The city of Beloit and a group of high school students are hosting this year's Arbor Day ceremony.

The city's Terrace Operations Manager, Bruce Slagoski, says the city is working with the Beloit Memorial Environmental Club to put on the event.

A number of guests, including State Senator Judy Robson and representatives from the D.N.R. are scheduled to attend. Robson will be receiving a distinguished service award from the Wisconsin Urban Forestry Council.

The ceremony is slated to take place Friday morning at 9am at the South end of the school grounds. In case of inclement weather, it will be moved inside.
