Snappers can’t stay with River Bandits’ offense

— The Beloit Snappers lost a slugfest to the Quad Cities River Bandits, 10-9, in Midwest League baseball Wednesday.

Beloit trailed 9-6, but scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to tie it, 9-9. In the top of the ninth, Quad Cities’ Robert Stock hit a two-out single off Snappers’ reliever Steve Blevins to drive home the winning run.


River Bandits’ reliever Aaron Terry got the Snappers in order in the bottom of the ninth.


The teams combined for 27 hits, with the Snappers getting 15. The Snappers were 8-for-18 with runners in scoring postion.
