— Janesville Craig's girls soccer team had a successful weekend at the Fond du Lac Tournament.

The Cougars went 2-1 in the tournament with a 2-1 win over Lomira on Friday night, and a 1-0 victory over Manitowoc on Saturday. Craig lost to Winnebago Lutheran, 5-0, in its first game Saturday.

Chelsea Sheedy scored the game-winning goal against Manitowoc on an assist from Kristi Randall. Amanda Hamilton made five saves to earn the shutout win as the Cougars improved to 3-3 on the season.

"We had to work very hard for everything this tournament, but to come out of here with two wins tells me that we're continuing to improve," Craig High coach Bill McCabe said. "I'm very proud of the girls for how hard they played, especially today (Saturday) because it was so windy."

Kelsey Kennedy and Crandall scored goals in Craig High's win over Lomira.

The Cougars will play at Beloit Knitro in a Big Eight Conference game Tuesday night.
