— Led by the No. 2 doubles team of Kitchel Garey and Ryan Ploof, Janesville Parker's boys tennis team finished second Friday at the Parker Quadrangular.

The Vikings defeated both Lake Geneva Badger and Beloit Memorial by a score of 4-3, but lost the championship match to Fort Atkinson, 5-2.

Garey and Ploof improved to 5-1 on the season by going 3-0 on Friday.

"I've really been pleased with our doubles play all season long and it continued today," Parker coach Mike Fuhrmann said.

"And as a team, I really thought we played well today. The kids played great, especially in doubles because it was very windy up at Parker. We're improving each and every match."

Parker's No. 1 doubles team of Craig Spangler and Cody Papcke went 2-1, while Matt Knutson was 2-1 at No. 1 singles.

Parker hosts Madison East Tuesday in a Big Eight Conference meet.
