Paige Demos and Niquisha Kenerson led Janesville Parker's girls track and field team to a fifth-place finish at Friday night's Lady Lasers Relays at Kettle Moraine High School.

Parker finished with 52 points, while Mequon Homestead won the team title with 96 points.

Demos cleared 5-foot-2 for the best individual high jump mark, and joined Sammi Shelton and Kristin Zeilinger to win the event at a combined 16-2.

Kenerson jumped 16-2 for the best long jump effort, and teamed with Erika Whitson and Kyle Simonson to win the event with a distance of 45-4.

"Our team is still a work in progress, but we're getting better and that's the most important thing," Parker coach Dave Lehmann said. "We got a chance tonight to compete against some very good teams, and to do some things we don't normally do because it was a relay meet."

Parker is at Madison Memorial in a Big Eight Conference meet on Wednesday before hosting an eight-team invitational Friday night at Monterey Stadium. Beloit Memorial, Franklin, Merrill, Oak Creek, Verona, Waukesha West and Westosha Central will join Parker in the invite.
