Parker, Craig tennis win
Janesville Parker opened the Big Eight Conference boys tennis season by beating Beloit Memorial, 5-2.
Coach Mike Fuhrman said his team was without a couple of regular varsity players due to a choir concert, but some junior varsity players stepped up to replace them.
"We're playing well," Fuhrman said. "Our doubles teams are playing great."
The Vikings' No. 1 doubles team of Craig Spangler and Codi Papcke improved to 4-0 on the season with a 6-2, 7-5 victory.
"They really worked a lot this offseason," Fuhrman said. "They're playing awful well."
The Vikings will hold a quadrangular meet Friday with Lake Geneva Badger, Fort Atkinson and Beloit filling out the field.
