— Janesville Parker's baseball team made quick work of Madison West in a Big Eight Conference game Tuesday afternoon.

The Vikings erupted for 10 runs in the first inning en route to a 12-0 five-inning win over the Regents at Mansfield Stadium.

Kyle Johnson and Tyler Teubert homered for the Vikings, while three pitchers held the Regents to only two hits.

"Considering we didn't get our first hit until the seventh inning against Beloit, it was nice to come out today and get out bats going right away," Parker coach Brian Martin said. "They had a couple errors that opened the door, but we came through with some clutch hits when he needed to.

"Pitching-wise, all three of our guys threw well. One of the two hits was a bunt single, and we only walked one."

Parker (2-1, 2-1) plays Portage in a nonconference game Thursday night at 7 at Miller Park in Milwaukee.

"Everybody is really looking forward to that," Martin said. "It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play in a major league park."
