WCLO's Steve Benton reports on a facilities needs study for Milton's public works department

RSS

— The City of Milton has hired the consulting firm, General Engineering, of Portage, to conduct a study of the city's department of public works and its facilities.

General Engineering will do a facilities needs study which includes cost analysis of upgrading and expanding current facilities compared to building a new facility.

City Administrator, Todd Schmidt, says they're "busting at the seams now" in their current facilities and have at least one piece of equipment that doesn't fit in any of their buildings.

The report is scheduled to be in their hands no later than July 6th so decisions can be made in the current budget cycle. The cost of the study is $18,750.
