WCLO's Steve Benton reports the Town of Beloit's new fire headquarters building will open about a month behind schedule

RSS

— The new Town of Beloit Fire Department Headquarters building completion date is getting moved back about a month.

Chief Dennis Ahrens says a few minor issues, including cement that has a high moisture content, means occupancy won't happen until the end of April.

He says it looks like an open house will be scheduled in mid May. Ahrens says it appears the approximately $2.8 million project will finish on budget.

As soon as the new building is occupied, the old building will be torn town and the space will become a combination of parking lot and green space.
