Two people are vying for the supervisor No. 3 position on the Richmond Town Board.

The incumbent, who has served on the town board for 12 years, faces a man who says taxes are among his chief concerns for the town.

The candidates are:

Carol Behrens (I)

Age: 70

Address: N6327 Highway 89, Delavan.

Job: Retired preschool teacher. She now raises miniature donkeys.

Education: Studied child development at Harper College, Palatine, Ill., 1980.

Community service: None.

Elected posts: Town board supervisor No. 3, 1998-present.

Major campaign issues: We need to keep our good farmland for future generations and marginal land for controlled growth and housing. Our lakes are one of the precious assets, and we need to keep them that way. I believe we must first keep in mind our citizens have individual rights and then do what's best for Richmond.

Martin Brunner

Age: 46

Address: W9076 County A, Delavan.

Job: Owner, Firebird City, Richmond Township.

Education: High school graduate

Community service: Member of the Richmond Plan Commission, 2009-present.

Elected posts: None.

Major campaign issues: Curb tax spending and address lake issues that are concerns of local residents and the community.
