Janesville Craig soccer falls in opener
Wauwatosa East scored five straight goals in the second half to defeat Janesville Craig, 6-1, in a nonconference girls soccer opener Tuesday night on the Cougars’ field.
The Cougars’ Monica Speth tied the game at 1-all less than three minutes in the second half. East’s Emily Ferger put the visitors back in front 50 seconds later, and her second goal at the 53:25 mark began the rout.
“They simply outgunned us in the second half,” Craig coach Bill McCabe said. “They’be got three really good players. We’re young and have a lot ot learn. They showed us what we have to do.”
