Whitewater could become a center for innovative research and job creation with its newly funded Whitewater University Technology Park.

Whitewater City Manager Kevin Brunner calls progress in planning the park, over the last year, truly remarkable. UW-Whitewater Chancellor Richard Telfer says the Innovation Center, first to be built, will generate new ideas, and some will ultimately translate into new companies and jobs for the area.

A groundbreaking is planned for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at 1231 Innovation Drive, formerly known as Corporate Drive.
