— Beloit police are investigating the death of a 19 year old female on the city's east side.

Police and Fire Department paramedics responded to 920 Park Ave. Apt. 205 just before 7:30 Monday morning.

They found the victim not breathing and attempted, but failed, to resuscitate her. An autopsy will be scheduled.

Captain Bill Tyler says they also have a suspect, but he's not ready to release any other information pending the completion of the investigation.

Tyler says the building is the same one where police conducted a drug raid last week, but he doesn't think the bust and the homicide are related.

Shooting was not reported in this instance. BDN stated that it's being treated as a homicide and therefore the 4th homicide this year. It then went on to report three earlier shootings.

As for money going to riverfront/downtown. I think the benefits on these investments are self evident and positive for the entire community.

The investment (and property management) needed to address Park Street Apartments needs to come from the out of town and mostly anonymous, absent landlord. There has been very little done to maintain this property for years by those who've owned it and they've allowed it to degrade to the point where it is now a public safety issue. It is the property owner who needs to step up and take charge of their building IMO. There are families with children living there.

Yeah your right - but still where did it say she was shot? Im just wondering if I missed something or if it was just a jump to an assumption so say she was shot?

actually they may still do an autopsy on a shooting to find out if they were dead b4 the gun shot, ya know...poison, strangling...maybe the gun shot is a cover up.

Beloit police. How many shootings have there been this year? This one took place at a complex that was involved in the drug raid last week. Maybe I am wrong on what Ive said about the police department. Maybe instead of shelling out millions to make the riverfront and downtown so attractive to tourists, money should be spent on more policemen/policewomen and training.

"HOMOcide?" Quite another matter altogether! Apparently these domestic partnerships may lead directly to an Idiocracy.

The homicide victim found at the apartment building in the 900 block of Park Avenue in Beloit today, Sept. 28, has been identified as Darrellwar Tillman, 19.

Beloit Police have arrested Jeremy Alexander Leavy-Carter, 20, in connection with the case. He is being held tentatively on the charge of first degree intentional homicide.

Homocide and overdose are not mutually exclusive.
