Stateline United Way kick off
BELOIT The Stateline United Way campaign got off to a rousing start Wednesday morning with the announcement of the campaign goal, and a balloon drop.
Chair, John Bottorf, says the board decided to set the goal just a little higher than the actual amount of money collected last year at $1.425 million.
Pacesetter, and Key Club companies have already raised a total of $264,000, which represents about 18 percent of goal.
Bottorf says they're making special appeals to company CEO's this year to take an active role in their campaigns.
Day of Caring volunteers total 250 this year and they're donating nearly 1,500 hours of time on 52 projects for 20 non profits.
