Jamie Hofer scored on a 23-yard run, and Drew Haack caught a 50-yard scoring pass from Shane Adler to lead Middleton High’s second-half rally past visiting Sun Prairie in Big Eight football Friday night.
Middleton rode its 17-10 victory into a first-place tie with Janesville Parker, Madison Memorial and Verona at 3-1.
Sun Prairie (2-2) took a 7-0 lead into halftime, thanks to a 27-yard scoring pass from Tyler Patterson to Aaron Mayr in the first quarter.
The game was dominated by defenses as Sun Prairie managed 213 total yards, while Middleton had just 178.
Sun Prairie again was without star running back Sean Marshall, who has been suspended for disciplinary reasons.
