Lake Geneva Badger’s football team bounced back in a big way Friday night.

Badger High (3-1) rushed for 406 yards en route to a 40-14 win over visiting Wilmot, boosting the Badgers to 1-1 in the Southern Lakes Confrerence.

After losing to Delavan-Darien a week ago, the Badgers rolled to a 19-0 lead behind a pair of touchdown runs by Justin Bowers. Badger’s Trevor York started the scoring with an 89-yard scamper in the first quarter.

York finished with a game-high 206 yards rushing on only 15 carries.

Wilmot’s Chris Nelson threw for 141 yards.

n Westosha 24, Elkhorn 7—Westosha Central used a 244-yard ground game and a pair of touchdown passes for a Southern Lakes win at Elkhorn.

After the Falcons (3-1, 1-1) led 12-0 at halftime, Elkhorn (1-3, 1-1) struck in the first minute of the third quarter. Seth Koepnick’s 62-yard touchdown pass to Skyler O’Laughlin pulled the Elks with 12-6, but Central got back in control with an 88-yard touchdown drive.

Austin Damaschke made it 18-7 with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Dustin Milz with 11:47 left in the game. The Falcons put it out a reach on Jason Castona’s 23-yard touchdown reception.

n Union Grove 38, Delavan-Darien 36—Brett Epping kicked a 43-yard field goal with three seconds remaining to lift the Broncos over the Comets in a Southern Lakes thriller at Union Grove.

Dan Vyvyan gained 247 yards on 39 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead Union Grove (2-2, 1-1). Austin Fritzinger passed for 163 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another to lead Delavan-Darien (2-2, 1-1).
