— Negotiators met for two hours Wednesday night to continue work on new contract for Janesville public school teachers.

Negotiators issued a short, joint statement afterwards that was nearly identical to the statement they released when they met a week ago. The statement said: “We discussed many issues.”

Wednesday night’s bargaining session was the sixth since talks began in May.

The old contract ran out June 30.

Teachers are working under the terms of their old contract.

The two sides are scheduled to meet again Oct. 7.
