Rock County Sheriff's office warns of possible fraud

— The Rock County Sheriff's Office warned people Tuesday to be aware of any solicitations for donations from callers claiming to represent the "Rock County Police Department."

A Janesville resident reported receiving a solicitation for money for an advertisement in an Internet predator book, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office is not publishing such a book and is not soliciting donations for advertisements, according to the sheriff's office.

The Janesville Police Department is investigating the incident as a possible fraud, according to the sheriff's office.
