Vikings golfers sweep, stay in title hunt

— Janesville Parker High School’s girls golf team got the job done Monday and now will play a waiting game in the Big Eight race.

Katie Brossard carded a

5-over-par 76 to lead Parker to a 348 total and a sweep of Madison La Follette, Verona and Beloit Memorial at Riverside in the Vikings’ conference dual finale.

The three victories gave Parker an 8-1 record in the Big Eight. Middleton leads the conference with an 8-0 mark but faces Madison West (7-1) today at Pleasant View in a match that will decide whether the Cardinals capture the undisputed title or share it with Parker and the Regents.

Brossard went 37-39 for her medalist round. Teammate Molly Rozeboom followed with an 80, while Amanda Becker carded a 95 and Taylor Utzig added a 97.

La Follette shot 368, Verona 427, and Beloit Memorial’s score was incomplete.

Parker hosts its invitational on Saturday at Riverside. The Rock County tournament in next Monday at the Janesville Country Club, and the Big Eight meet is Thursday, Sept. 24, at Evansville.
