A Beloit teen was killed last night in a shooting on the city's east side.
Captain Bill Tyler says the victim is identified as Gina Zamora of 1676 Wisconsin Avenue.
Tyler says the shooters appear to have targeted a house in the 1600 block of Wisconsin Avenue, but not necessarily the victim.
There are no suspects at this time but police are looking for several people to talk to.

Is this gang s**t really necessary? How many times does this need to happen this year to our teenagers to make people wake up and realize...another shrine of balloons and flowers to look at on the side of the road because somebody chose to take an innocent person's life. I just have to say, it's becoming the norm on street corners in Beloit this year. There's the shrine of Joey on 6th Street and now this?!? Innocent kids caught in the middle, losing their lives to these f**kers who think gunfire is the answer. It's pretty sad when we're the headline of how many gunshots were heard in our city in one month. Knock on wood, but I wouldn't be surprised if Memorial is the next Columbine. That's what happens when expectations aren't put on kids and parents don't care where their kids are. And yes, I'm generalizing, but there are a lot of kids particularly in that school that get away with calling their teachers b**ches and much worse and the teachers can't do a thing about it but send them in the hallway to sleep the day away. Wonder where the kids get it from. That leads to gangs and violence, which leads to yet another tragic death of another innocent teenager. R.I.P. Gina Zamora.
