Culinary event to benefit ECHO, BTC scholarship fund

JANESVILLE Some of Janesville’s most notables will serve a gourmet dinner at the fourth annual A Culinary Delight, on Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Janesville Country Club, 2615 W. Memorial Drive.
ECHO, a local faith-sponsored charity, and the Culinary Students’ Scholarship Fund at Blackhawk Technical College will share event proceeds.
Students enrolled in BTC’s culinary program will donate time and culinary talents to prepare the meal under the leadership of instructors Joe Wollinger, Mark Olsen and Katie Thomas.
Activities will start at 5 p.m. with appetizers, a cash bar and silent auction. Dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m.
The menu includes a pear and apple Waldorf salad with sherry vinaigrette dressing, choice of fresh lobster or filet mignon served with blue cheese herb butter sweet and russet potatoes pave’ and locally grown vegetables. The dessert tray will include hazelnut chocolate profiteroles, strawberry crumb tarts, s’more brownies, bourbon tarts with chocolate chips and lemon crème éclairs.
