Janesville Craig’s volleyball team picked up a Big Eight Conference win Tuesday night by sweeping past Beloit Memorial.

The Cougars hung on to win the first game, 28-26, before cruising in Games 2 and 3 for a 3-0 victory.

“We started out flat in game one, falling behind 15-6, but then we started playing much better after that,” Craig coach Blake Budrow said.

“Michelle Straw did a nice job hitting, while Chelsea Sheedy was solid defensively.

“It was a good way to start the week.”

The Cougars (1-1) will host Madison La Follette on Thursday night

After winning Game 2 to tie the match at 1-1, the Vikings lost 25-11 in Game 3.

“This is a match we probably shouldn’t have lost, but we just didn’t make the plays when we had to,” Parker coach Dave Lehmann said.

“The difference at the end was the fact that we had a chance to take it to a fifth game, but we came up short in Game 4. With the game (four) tied at 23-23, East made two back-to-back great plays to win 25-23.”

Lehmann praised the play of senior hitter Paige Demos and the serving of Nicole Popovich.

My name is spelled Cheviah. And we don't have a "Megan" on our team. It's Regan. =]
