School board members want to be clear: the budget proposal isn't final.
Janesville property taxpayers could see a nearly two percent increase in taxes this year. Tuesday the school board's finance committee approved the creation of a budget scenario that includes about $465,000 in cuts and a tax increase of roughly $38 for the owner of a $141,000 home. Those cuts are to be determined. The school board approved $2 million in cuts this spring.
The school board will hear more at its September 22 meeting.

bobb1951,
The teachers and administrators do care how the items you mentioned are paid for, they pay for them.

The ones who care are administrators, teachers. They care about their raises, insurance, benefits. They certaintly don't care how these are to be paid for. Are'nt we all glad the referdums were forced on us until passed.Who pays when more jobs, families leave Janesville,Rock County?

If we see a 2% increase during a time of 0% inflation, and massive economic trouble, just imagine what the increase will be in better times. Unfortunately, nobody seems to care.
