Beloit Snappers win season finale

BELOIT — The Beloit Snappers ended their season on winning note, defeating the visiting Wisconsin Timber Rattlers,

5-1, Sunday in a Midwest League baseball finale.

After the Rattlers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth, Beloit bounced back with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good, 3-1.

Aaron Hicks ripped an RBI double to highlight Beloit’s three-run inning.

Beloit starter Daniel Osterbrock (7-10) allowed on run on four hits and struck out nine through seven innings to earn the victory. Snappers’ reliever Kyle Carr blanked the Rattlers through the final two innings, striking out five and allowing three hits.

Beloit concluded the 2009 season 57-83 overall and 30-40 for the second half.
