Beloit-Janesville Symphony sets holiday flower sale, pickup

— Holiday flower and bulb sale pickup will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Janesville Olde Towne Mall, back entrance, 20 S. Main St., and First Baptist Church, 617 Public Ave., Beloit.

The foil-wrapped, locally grown poinsettias and amaryllis bulbs will be sold for these prices:

-- $10 for 6-inch pots with five to seven flowers.

-- $18 for 7-inch pots with eight to 10 flowers.

-- $28 for 8-inch pots with 15 to 20 flowers.

Order forms are available at beloitjanesvillesymphony.org/Flower_Sales_2009-2010.pdf.

Checks should be made payable to Friends of the BJS and mailed along with an order form to Beloit-Janesville Symphony, P.O. Box 185, Beloit, WI 53512-0185 before Monday, Nov. 23. The proceeds will be used to buy music for the orchestra.

Donations of a 6-inch poinsettia to a local nursing home of BJS' choice also will be accepted. Each donated plant will be on the stage during the Holiday Spectacular performances on Dec. 19 and 20.
