Madison West High School's football season ended the same way it started—with a missed two-point conversion costing the Regents a chance for victory.

Leighton Settle scored his third TD of the night for the Regents with 33 seconds left Tuesday, but they couldn't convert the two-point run and dropped a 21-19 decision to unbeaten Waukesha West in the first round of the WIAA Division 1 playoffs.

Waukesha West (10-0) advanced to a second-round game Saturday vs. Hartland Arrowhead (7-1), whom the Wolverines beat 12-6 in a regular-season game that decided the Classic Eight championship.

Settle finished his sparkling career for the Regents (5-5) with a 161-yard rushing performance on 28 carries. His senior year began with a 28-27 loss to Madison Memorial, which went on to share the Big Eight Conference title.
