Halloween arrives a few days early at Palmer Park in Janesville.

The annual Enchanted Forest opens Wednesday night with several classic story displays including the "Three Little Pigs", "Wizard of Oz", and "Cat in the Hat". City Recreation Coordinator Shelly Slapak says costumed hosts will guide groups of about 50 to each of the "sets" where actors, mostly high school students, will perform a scene. The event if presented by the city, Thursday Noon Optimists, and more than 100 volunteers. Times are 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. through Friday night. Slapak says around 1500 people attend each night.

She says it's geared toward young children and families.
