Luke Buchholz, a Whitewater High graduate, has made himself right at home in UW-Whitewater men’s soccer.

In fact, the junior forward has performed so well for the hometown team that he has been named Offensive Player of the Week in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Buchholz isn’t alone, however, in that special honor. Steve Nashleanas, the Warhawks’ junior defender out of Brookfield East High School, is the WIAC Defensive Player of the Week for men’s soccer.

Buchholz had two goals and an assist in leading Whitewater to 3-0 win over North Park (Ill.). He went into this week with nine goals in 14 matches to lead the conference in goals per game.

Nashleanas led the Warhawks (now 8-5-3) to their fourth consecutive shutout in the win over North Park.
