Janesville school's security a highlight during "Safe Schools Week"

WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on progress of key safety measures in Janesville schools

The Janesville School District is updating several security measures.

As Rock County schools observe "Wisconsin Safe Schools Week", Manager of Health and Safety for the Janesville District, Mat Haeger, reviews his operation. Haeger says a new automated mass phone messaging system appears to be working properly. Updates for each of the building's emergency response plans are underway. An entrance buzz-in system is also being used in the district.

The Governor proclaimed this "Wisconsin Safe Schools Week" as a way to encourage communitites to take proactive steps to make Wisconsin's classrooms safer for students.
