A popular historic site in Rock county gets a windfall. Beckman Mill is expecting a $10,000 state grant.

Friends of Beckman Mill President Sheri Disrud says this is very unusual for the 50-acre park featuring a grist mill. She says the $25,000 annual operating budget is mainly dependent on donations and memberships.

She says officials will meet next month to consider what to do with the money, but it will likely be something special.
